Hi,

I'm the founder of Openly Roofing Projects™ 

My career in the roofing industry began two decades ago.  Over the years I have worked in almost every capacity imaginable within the industry, from being on the tools as a domestic tradesperson, to managing major projects in the public sector. I have gained formal qualifications along the way in quantity surveying and construction management, I've also worked with manufacturers in technical sales and specification roles.  Most recently, I founded and ran a domestic roof refurbishment company which won a community award through the platform NextDoor in 2023. I have also been providing freelance quantity surveying support to other roofing and cladding contractors since 2022.

Prior to this, I worked as a commercial manager with one of the UK's largest roof refurbishment companies,  delivering projects for many prestigious public sector clients including SHELL, National Grid, the MoD, the NHS, CBRE, Balfour Beatty and various other national institutions across manufacturing, retail and public spaces.  

Here's a bit more about me, my roofing related qualifications and past experience:

• Level 6 Diploma in construction management and quantity surveying

• IOSH managing safely certified

• Institute of Roofing 2018-2025

• 13+ cumulative years in business as a roofing contractor

• Major project experience across healthcare, education, utilities, petrochemical and the MoD

• Knowledge of a wide range of roofing systems and technical applications

• A keen interest in sustainable roofing systems

• Thorough knowledge of heritage and conservation roofing applications, techniques and guidelines
